What was announced?
M-Files will now use SharePoint Embedded, a Microsoft API service, to natively integrate M-Files content into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This means that documents you manage in M-Files are automatically accessible to Microsoft 365 Copilot, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint, without separate integrations or synchronization issues.
Jeff Teper, President of Microsoft 365 at Microsoft, described it as follows:
"This revolutionary offering, the first of its kind built on SharePoint Embedded, combines Microsoft’s collaborative platform with M-Files’ business-centric processes and scalable document management to deliver a solution that’s greater than the sum of its parts."

The combined M-Files and Microsoft 365 solution is now available. Co-authoring in Office is live for all new M-Files Desktop and Web users. Microsoft 365 Copilot integration and Microsoft Search support will follow in Q1 2026.
