Organisations using M-Files no longer need to choose between powerful document management and the full potential of Microsoft AI. From 16 March 2026, M-Files content works natively in Microsoft 365 Copilot, the Copilot Agent Builder and the Microsoft 365 search bar across all Office applications.

A unique integration: no connector, no workaround
Many DMS platforms offer a connection to Microsoft 365 via connectors or middleware. M-Files goes further: this is a native, Microsoft-validated integration with the same access level as SharePoint and OneDrive.
M-Files is the only document management solution natively integrated in Microsoft 365 Copilot, the Copilot Agent Builder and Microsoft 365 Search simultaneously, with full governance and security preserved.
That means your M-Files documents, metadata, permission structure and compliance rules are fully passed through to the Microsoft ecosystem: no workarounds, no manual synchronisation, no data loss.
Microsoft 365 Copilot: smarter analysis, better answers
Microsoft 365 Copilot can now search, summarise and analyse your full M-Files content, alongside your SharePoint and OneDrive files. When a user asks Copilot for a summary of the latest project file, an overview of client contracts or an analysis of quality reports, Copilot automatically draws on the right M-Files documents.
Crucially, all M-Files governance, access rights and compliance rules are automatically respected. Copilot will never show a user content they do not have access to. Your information security remains intact, regardless of how the query is formulated.
Copilot Agent Builder: build agents on your business content
With the Copilot Agent Builder, you can create focused assistants that perform specific tasks based on your M-Files content. Think of an onboarding agent guiding new employees through your internal procedures, a project assistant retrieving relevant documents from active files, or a compliance assistant answering questions based on your policy handbooks.
The possibilities are broad, and everything is protected by the M-Files security layer. Every agent respects exactly the same permission structure as the rest of your M-Files environment.
Microsoft 365 Search: find everything from one search bar
M-Files content now appears in the native search bar of Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Your employees no longer need to switch between applications to find M-Files documents. They search from the tool already open, and the results appear automatically.
No extra training, no adjustment period. Employees work in the tools they know, and M-Files content appears seamlessly in the right place, at the right time.
