A qualified electronic signature is the highest eIDAS level. It uniquely identifies the signer through a trusted digital identity and is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature in every EU member state. Penneo is a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trust List.
Yes. Through Penneo, clients sign with itsme or the Belgian eID, identities they already use and trust. Every signature made with itsme through Penneo is a qualified electronic signature.
Engagement letters, audit reports, financial statements, and most firm documents can be signed digitally. A few documents still require a specific form by law, so the right signature level is set per document type rather than assumed.
The signed version is filed automatically in the client file in M-Files. There is no printing, scanning, or manual saving, and the document is found by client, type, or date like everything else.
Yes. Every signature carries a tamper-proof audit trail recording who signed, when, and proof the document was not changed afterwards. That makes the signature very hard to dispute and easy to evidence.
